Question of anyobe can help answer please do!! I have a yellowy pine piece and will paint parts, then leave the natural wood color on the top.. Will using a 220 sandpaper and then polyurethane clear satin keep a somewhat natural wood color? I dont want the wood as light as this; i want it just slightly yellow pine and wondering if just a 220 sand will give me that look?

Does this paint has strong odor? The one I used also rust oleum was so strong that I had to wear mask.

I have the same jewelry box that my sister bought me in the 90’s.

It turned out beautiful. This is the first time I have seen a paint wash done with full strength paint. Usually the paint is mixed with water so it is more subtle.

A sweet piece, you can even comeback later and add some guilding on the legs on a couple of those lined horizontal ridges, it you decide to, either gold leaf or guilding wax. It's a great little piece.

ive done my pine buffet twice over the past 20 years , sanded & waxed it both times with a dark wax & it comes up beautiful but the yellowing oils still come back slowly.

i have no experiance with milk paint. i really like how it turned out. my next piece might be finished with milk paint

Not a fan of the ugly modern vases. Broke my heart to see vintage Anchor Hocking vases destroyed. After saying, that, the technique is great. I'll just use it on plain glass, not already beautiful colored glass.

Could you just strip it and then sand?

I prefer to refinish the bottoms of vessels as it creates a more authentic look. Leaving it untouched is unnatural.

Did you use a different type of paint from the base to the top coat? *Also, is it a good durable finish for setting wet glasses/cups on? I’m thinking about painting the top of my dining table black. You do a great job. I haven’t seen another person, on other UA-cam channels, do as thorough of a cleaning on their pieces. You got me as a subscriber now and that is the reason. That and the fact you do a lovely job of painting.😀

Awesome job!! I was wondering (for my own knowledge) why not use the RO sander for the 120 and 220?

Not going to lie, watching her scrape off excess wood and glue with the putty knife was hard to watch. I'm certain she has a chisel, would have been way less aggravating to remove. Also, gluing the drawer bottom defeats the purpose of kerf, doesn't it? It's supposed to be able to expand and contract. Wouldn't it be better to use mending wedges?
